Beam and Stringer Types

Variety of Construction and Connection Methods

TREPEDIA supports all common beam and stringer construction methods from classic to modern designs.

See how fast it works

TREPEDIA enables most common construction methods. Profiles can be selected from extensive lists and are displayed realistically in the 3D view.

Corner Connections

Continuous stringer

Depending on the design, different connections are possible at the corners. In any case, one of the beams/stringers can run continuously to the wall at each corner.

Corner connection with square

Side stringers can optionally meet at the corners at the same height (forming a small square).

Mortised corner connection

Stringers can optionally be interlocked at the corners to simplify assembly.

Beam, Saddled

Stepped profile

Stepped Profile (classic double-beam stair)

The corner connection is designed for manufacturing, all beam sections appear in the parts list. This type can also be designed as a central beam stair.

Sheet metal sawtooth

Sheet Metal Sawtooth

Like the saddled wooden stairs, timeless.

Stepped sheet metal

Stepped Sheet Metal

Laser-cut alternative to the double-beam stair from profile.

Stringer, Side Mounted

Stepped side profile

Stepped Profile

Side-mounted profile, usually rectangular tube.

Straight profile

Straight Profile

Side-mounted profile, e.g. flat bar or U-profile.

Curved sheet metal

Curved Sheet Metal

Also a classic, the curved sheet metal stringer, advantageously laser-cut.

Side sawtooth sheet metal

Sheet Metal Sawtooth

More delicate version of the side stringer.

Stepped side sheet metal

Stepped Sheet Metal

Modern version of the side stringer, often flush with the steps.
